“El Vuelo del Halcón” (Flight of the Falcon) is located 900 m above sea level on the west side of the island La Palma. It is within walking distance of the small village of “Las Tricias”; the closest village of some size, “Puntagorda”, is 4 km away. Extending across 30,000 m2, the finca enjoys an idyllic and quiet setting. Nearly every location affords a magnificent view of the sea.

The finca was inhabited and operated as an almond and citrus farm for over 100 years by the respected Barreto Family. Along with its magnificent view of the sea, the site originally contained a residential building with the traditional round oven, a forge and various stable buildings.

The takeover of the finca by a Swiss manager and nature lover in 1986 marked the beginning of an intensive period of redesign. In an open-ended process that continues to evolve with time, the old buildings have been painstakingly renovated and expanded with great respect for the original substance.

The drinking water at the finca is channelled from mountain springs, filtered and sterilised and boasts mineral water quality.

The buildings are set amidst a luxuriant garden filled with the colourful blooms of native and exotic plants.

The terraces of the former almond farm have been restored and newly planted. The almond trees are now joined by citrus fruits, apples, pears, apricots, peaches, plums, figs, kakis, pomegranates, medlar trees, grapes, prickly pears and many more. A variety of herbs, succulents and exotic plants have made the grounds a veritable paradise.

Whether you want to do some hiking or cycling, fasting or feasting, to relax in peace and quiet or engage in activities as part of a dynamic group, meditate, dance or simply catch up on rest and sleep in: “Vuelo del Halcón” is the right place for you.
